About Paulina

Adm R.I am Gestalt therapist working towards UKCP accreditation. I have completed a 4 year course in Gestalt psychotherapy in Edinburgh Gestalt Institute between 2013-2017. I am fully insured and as a member of GPTI I subscribe to the GPTI Code of Ethics. I continue my professional development through participating in various advanced psychotherapeutic workshops, trainings and courses.

Gestalt psychotherapy is both my passion and calling. I have gone a long journey to be able to say that. It has been a ‘bumpy’ but also a very rewarding journey. I have travelled through many countries to finally settle in Edinburgh. My roots are from Poland, but who I am has been hugely impacted by many different cultures and people I met on my way. It feels natural for me to have chosen Gestalt since it’s very holistic as opposed to many other psychotherapeutic modalities, focusing both on our body and mind (feelings and cognitive processes). My work is also influenced by Ruella Frank’s Somatic Developmental Psychotherapy and Arnold Mindell’s Process Work.

In addition to my psychotherapeutic experience I have also worked in the field of mental health for many years and acquired an extensive knowledge in such areas as Autism spectrum, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, trauma etc. I also worked with refugees and ethnic minorities and have experience providing psychological support for multicultural communities in Edinburgh and abroad.

I have developed my practice working for years in Pilton Community Health Project which equipped me with substantial experience.

I warmly welcome you to my private practice in the centre of Edinburgh. If that’s something that might interest you, please contact me for more details.
