What is therapy/counselling
Therapy is a way of exploring oneself in a relationship with a therapist/counsellor. It is a relationship that should enable you to repair various relational difficulties you might experience in your life now or you did in the past. One of the tasks of therapy is to develop bigger capacity to tolerate difficult emotions. It can be painful, but also exciting, rich and life-changing. Therapeutic relationship helps explore and stay with those feelings rather then habitually react or avoid them. With time you might realise that you have more choice to how you want to respond to life circumstances or people and your decisions are more attuned to your needs.
Therapy can be short or long term. I normally tend to work for a minimum of 6 sessions after which I and a client decide if we continue. In general if you are aiming at deeper character changes, it is a much longer process, however it all depends on each person, their wounds and history. I normally work on a once a week basis to ensure regularity and integration of what’s learnt.
Who is it for
I am a bilingual therapist (English and Polish) and I welcome people from all walks of life. I work with adults (18+).
If you struggle with or you would like to explore:
- low self-esteem
- sexuality and gender
- childhood sexual abuse
- difficulties with relationships
- emotional difficulties related to living abroad
I have also a special interest working with artists guiding them through their creative blocks and helping them find their own authentic path.
My practice is informed by respect, confidentiality and compassion and I regularly consult it with a qualified and accredited supervisor.
Where I work from
I mainly work from Causewayside in Southside of Edinburgh, however I can also see you in Beetroot Sauvage Wellness Centre in Newington.
