What is therapy/counselling
Therapy is a way of exploring oneself in a relationship with a therapist/counsellor. It can be short or long term. I normally tend to work for a minimum of 6 sessions after agreeing it with a client to explore and help them integrate what they have learnt. It usually takes time before we start being more in touch with our feelings. One of the tasks of therapy is to develop bigger capacity to tolerate difficult emotions. It can be a painful task, but also exciting, rich and life-changing. Working in a therapeutic relationship helps explore and stay with the whole range of feelings and reflect on the past, presence and future to build more satisfying life.
Who is it for
I welcome people from all walks of life. I work with adults (18+).
If you struggle with or you would like to explore:
- low self-esteem
- sexuality and gender
- childhood sexual abuse
- difficulties with relationships
- emotional difficulties related to living abroad
I have also a special interest working with artists guiding them through their creative blocks and helping them find their own authentic path.
My practice is informed by respect, confidentiality and compassion and I regularly consult it with a qualified and accredited supervisor.
Where I work from
I mainly work from Causewayside in Southside of Edinburgh, however I can also see you in Beetroot Sauvage Wellness Centre in Newington.
