I work with individuals and couples, and offer Gestalt approach as well as EMDR therapy.

I can help you to explore and integrate gently and with compassion the parts of yourself that have been neglected or disregarded through various life experiences.

My work is trauma-informed and relational. I work both on a cognitive and somatic level, supporting your growth and awareness to find a more satisfying way to be in the world.

The areas of my work include:

  • Trauma

  • PTSD

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Attachment issues

  • Boundaries and assertiveness

  • Low self-esteem

  • Identity issues

  • Loss and grief of all kinds

  • Difficulties in relationships

In couples work I am guided by Gestalt's perspective on relationships, as well as EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy). I help you to de-escalate conflict and recognise unhealthy dynamics by finding more compassion, where you can hear and see each other more clearly.

Intimate relationships tend to open old wounds which might prevent us from seeing what is actually happening. We need to slow down to regulate our nervous systems before we can take next steps. I can teach you how to do that and how you can support each other when it’s happening in the future.

My work with couples goes deep into the roots of a problem that once recognised and healed can lead to better communication and emotional attunement.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

I practise EMDR therapy which can be very effective for single event as well as more complex trauma. It is a highly specialised trauma therapy recognised by National Institute for Care and Excellence (NICE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) for PTSD.

Even though this form of therapy is more evidence based and can bring some relief sooner than other forms of therapy it still requires a lot of cooperation and time especially with more complex cases where abuse, neglect or trauma have been a significant part of your life.

When working with trauma in any sort of capacity we always have to cosider three significant stages: stabilisation, processing and integration. The duration of each of them varies from person to person depending on the severity of your experiences and the internal and external resources you have in place. We explore all of that together and I assess if and when you are ready to start safely processing your traumatic material.

Please bear in mind that EMDR therapy is an eight phase protocol where the above stages are included and eye movement or tapping is only the fourth stage that is applied once we both agree you’re ready and when I feel you will be able to cope with that.
